"What is that supposed to mean?!" I glared at the 6 feet 4 man standing in front of me. I flared my nose again.
"You're ridiculously wrong if you think I'll let you do things without my permission." His deep, authoritative voice filled the grand hall's silence.
I clenched my fist and stepped closer to him, eyes blazing with irritation and hate. "You might be used to people doing whatever you ask, but listen carefully, I'm not the one to shrink under it! I'm the event planner and do not need you ordering me around." I nearly shouted, I promise I'll break his face if he says one more word.
I'm not usually the type to hurt people or be arrogant with them. But this infuriating man! I hate him to my core. TO. MY. CORE.
FLASHBACK~
"Aahan!" I called out, running towards him. Aahan Sinha, my first love, my first crush, my senior in college.
He was in business studies on the other side. I was doing my event management course. I had gathered all the courage I had left and met his eyes, pink hue colouring my cheeks.
"What is it?" he asked, his voice deep and authoritative, the voice that commanded obedience and respect.
I gulped. "How are you?" I fiddled with my bag straps, I wanted to confess, I want to confess. I bit my lips unconsciously, a habit I had picked up when I was nervous.
"Listen, I don't want to waste my time, so cut to the chase." He sighed and glanced at his watch, looking bored.
I gulp down another lump that had formed in my throat. I closed my eyes and prayed for my life to my lord, dearest. "Will you, uhm, go-"
I opened my eyes, but he was gone. I turned and saw him walking with a girl who was probably in her first year, going hand-in-hand.
Tears welled up in my eyes, but I walked away from the campus before anyone made any anecdotes over my stupid heartbreak.
FLASHBACK ENDS!
Somebody snapped me out of the flashback, and I looked to the side, my eyes wide.
"Gosh! You scared me!" I smacked my friend and my assistant Siya Mehta on her head.
She gasped and grinned widely, "So Youngest Mr. Sinha, huh?" her voice carried a teasing note, but it would've worked 7 years ago, but it does not anymore.
His name only brings coldness to me. "It's nothing."
My voice came out colder than intended, which made her grin dissolve into something more like curiosity than realisation.
She gasped loudly, bringing the attention of a few workers.
I shushed her and told everyone to focus on their own work. "Siya, no-"
"He is THE AAHAN SINHA?" her voice echoed in the rather silent hall, everyone tried to focus on their work, but I knew they all needed something to gossip, and god forbid if I gave them one.
"Siya" My voice came out as a warning. She covered her mouth with her palm.
After her shock subsided, she busied herself with the flowers. "So he's getting married?" I rolled my eyes, I felt a gnawing feeling creeping through my veins. NO. STOP IT, NIRVI.
I turned my back on Siya and pretended to be engrossed in my tablet, scrolling through the list of guests.
Siya nudged at me, I sighed, "No, he's the groom's brother, blood-related." Siya just nodded and this time genuinely focused on the work. I instructed people through their work.
Tomorrow morning was the engagement ceremony, and in the evening, there was supposed to be an after-engagement party for immediate family and close friends.
At the end of the day, everything was perfect, and the final touches will be done till tomorrow morning. A small smile of satisfaction formed on my face, everything looked perfect and I'M IN GOA.
So, I guess I have this evening for myself. My eyes searched the entire hall until they fell on two irritatingly beautiful whiskey orbs.
I clenched my jaw and turned away, only to see Siya standing in the corner taking some calls. I rolled my sleeves and walked towards her.
I tapped on her shoulder, she hung up and looked at me with a wide smile. "Nivi, look, everything is perfect." I nodded and chuckled.
"Indeed. Because who did this, us!" I giggled again before composing myself. "You know, we should go and celebrate, come on, we are in GOA!" She gave me one of her mischievous grins and linked her arms in mine.
"Let's go to Hammerzz Nightclub, yeah?" I raised my eyebrows, "Hammerzz Nightclub?" to which she nodded.
The name was quite suggestive, but tonight, I just wanted to enjoy. Siya's phone's tune filled in, she excused herself and went to talk to whomever was on the call, I too scrolled through my emails, replying to all the clients.
"Hammerzz Nightclub?" That deep, authoritative voice wrapped around me like a warm blanket, and I shrugged it off. I sighed and turned to face him.
"Do you know eavesdropping is a crime?" I kept my hands on my hips, looking at him with equal hate and assertiveness.
He shrugged it off, but I noticed a small smirk. "I really wish you could go, but you won't."
THE AUDACITY OF THIS MAN. I clenched my jaw.
"And why would I listen to you?" Before he could reply, Siya ran towards me.
"We can't go. It's an emergency."
